Staycity Aparthotels Duke Street is an apartment hotel in the Ropewalks neighbourhood at the southern edge of Liverpool city centre. It has accommodation in spacious self-contained flats and these larger spaces make it an ideal option for families and groups of friends travelling together.
This Staycity Aparthotel has 56 serviced apartments that include one- and two-bedroom apartments as well as larger three-bedroom penthouses. In general, the apartments here are much larger than the average hotel room and are a great option for a family travelling together or for someone on an extended stay who wants to feel more at home and less like they are staying in a hotel.
All the apartments at this Staycity Aparthotel have separate sleeping and living areas and include a kitchen and a dining area. The kitchens are spacious (more spacious than the kitchens that many British people have in their homes) and they are fully-equipped with a fridge, dishwasher, microwave and electric cooking hobs. The kitchens also have a proper oven so you can make a pizza or bake a cake.
Some of the larger apartments in the complex have their own laundry facilities and guests staying in the smaller apartments have access to a shared laundry room in the building. All the apartments have ironing facilities.
Like other Staycity Aparthotels, the complex has a modern contemporary decor although the standard of the kitchens does vary quite a bit from one apartment to another and the three-bedroom apartments do tend to have nicer looking kitchens than those in the smaller apartments.
Because the living areas in the apartments have sofa beds, each apartment can sleep extra people with up to four people staying in the one-bedroom apartment, five to eight people in a two-bedroom apartment and nine to 10 people in a three-bedroom apartment. This makes it a great option for families and groups of friends travelling together.
All apartments and common areas have free Wi-Fi wireless internet access.
It is located on Duke Street in the Ropewalks neighbourhood and it is just a short five-minute walk into the city centre. There are several places to eat and drink nearby including the Brunch Club downstairs, which is a cafe that serves breakfast and brunch until 4pm and functions more like a bar later in the day.
From here, it is around a 10-minute walk to Albert Dock (where you can visit the Beatles Story, the Merseyside Maritime Museum, Tate Liverpool and the Wheel of Liverpool). The Cavern Club and the Magical Beatles Museum on Mathew Street are also a 10-minute walk away. It is a little bit farther (a 15-minute walk) to the Liverpool waterfront where you can find the Museum of Liverpool, the Pier Head ferry terminal, the British Music Experience and the Royal Liver Building. The cluster of attractions near Liverpool Lime Street station (St George’s Hall, the Central Library, the Walker Art Gallery and the World Museum) is also a 15-minute walk from the Staycity Aparthotel.
Liverpool Central is the closest railway station, which is just a five-minute walk away, and Lime Street station is around a 10-minute walk. It is very close (just a five-minute walk) to Liverpool One Bus Station, which has both local buses (including buses to Liverpool airport) and long-distance coaches to destinations throughout the UK.
On-site car parking is available but it costs £15 per day.
