The Rembrandt Hotel

The Grade II listed building dates from 1911 and was originally built as apartments for Harrods, which is less than a 10-minute-walk up Brompton Road.

The hotel’s 194 guest rooms all have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flatscreen television, tea and coffee making facilities, ironing facilities and en suite bathrooms with Gilchrist and Soames toiletries.

Room sizes vary but generally, most rooms range in size from 18m² (194 sq ft) to 28m² (301 sq ft) and the Grand Rooms are a very spacious 32m² (344 sq ft). Even larger is the 52m² (560 sq ft) Brompton Suite, which has separate living and sleeping areas.

The hotel has excellent dining facilities, which include the 1606 Lounge Bar and Conservatory Bar where you can enjoy drinks, a light meal or afternoon tea and the Palette Restaurant and Carvery, which serves British and international dishes.

The hotel’s other facilities include a 24-hour business centre and a fitness centre with an indoor swimming pool. However, access to the fitness centre and swimming pool is not free and is charged at £10 per day.

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.

The hotel is right across the road from the Victoria & Albert Museum on Brompton Road in South Kensington and the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum are only a five-minute walk away. Other attractions within walking distance include Hyde Park, the Royal Albert Hall and the high-end shopping areas of Chelsea and Knightsbridge, which are all under a 15-minute walk from the hotel.

South Kensington tube station (on zone one on the Circle, District and Piccadilly lines) is only a five-minute walk away and offers excellent transport connections into central London with trains running every two to six minutes. From here, it takes nine minutes to get to Piccadilly Circus, 10 minutes to get to Westminster, 11 minutes to get to Paddington station, 16 minutes to Kings Cross St Pancras and 40 minutes to Heathrow Airport.
