The 46 guest rooms all have comfortable beds, a flatscreen television and tea and coffee making facilities. Some of the hotel rooms have en suite bathrooms but guests staying in some of the single and twin rooms have to use a shared bathroom.

It is run by the same company that operates the Clifton Hotel, which is not even a one-minute walk away. Although both offer a similar standard of accommodation, The Washington has a full English and continental buffet breakfast included in your room rate, which makes it the better value of the two.

It is well suited to people who prefer to stay somewhere with a little character rather than a big chain hotel.

Although it is not a particularly centrally located hotel, it is a lovely neighbourhood and there are plenty of interesting places within walking distance. From here it is around a five-minute walk to the Bristol Triangle (the commercial area near the Bristol Museum & Art Gallery that is noted for its bars and restaurants) and the Clifton Down and Clifton Village shopping areas are both a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

Attractions within a 10-minute walk of the hotel include the Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, Cabot Tower and the Royal West of England Academy (RWA).

Bus route 8 stops nearby, operating a regular service linking the hotel with Clifton Village and Bristol city centre.
