Travelodge London Twickenham

The Travelodge London Twickenham hotel in London’s southwestern suburbs is handy to Twickenham Stadium and has excellent transport connections into central London.

Rooms at the Travelodge London Twickenham are a mix of double, twin and family rooms. All rooms include comfortable king-size beds, a television, a work desk, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom with a shower.

There are also some wheelchair-accessible rooms available.

In addition to standard rooms, this hotel also has SuperRooms, which are a bit like a premium economy room aimed at business travellers that don’t have the budget for a traditional business hotel. These rooms cost more and are much bigger with a larger desk, more power points, a better shower and a Lavazza coffee pod machine.

Unlike most other hotels, only your first 30 minutes of Wi-Fi wireless internet is free. If you need more internet you have to pay £3 for 24 hours.

Although this is a budget hotel, prices can fluctuate depending on demand and it can be more expensive staying here when there is a rugby match on at Twickenham although in most cases this hotel is a cheaper alternative to more centrally-located hotels.

This Travelodge is in the centre of Twickenham and it is close to shops, cafes, restaurants and cafes and you can walk to Eel Pie Island and the River Thames in less than 10 minutes. The hotel is around a 15-minute walk to Twickenham Stadium and it is right next door to Twickenham railway station (in zone five) which has 12 trains per hour to London Waterloo as well as direct trains to Reading and Windsor and Eton Riverside.

The journey to London Waterloo takes between 22 and 54 minutes depending on the train route and whether it is an express or not. Trains to Windsor take half an hour and Reading is an hour away.

The location next to the railway line is a bonus if you are using this as a base for visiting central London but it also means that light sleepers may be kept up at night from noise from the railway line below.

There are over 500 Travelodge hotels in the United Kingdom. Travelodges in Great Britain, Ireland and Spain are a separate business to the Travelodge hotels that operate in Canada and the USA (which are run by Wyndham) and the Travelodge hotel chain in Australia and New Zealand (which is part of TFE Hotels). Although all Travelodge hotels worldwide serve the same ‘quality budget’ end of the market, if you’re used to Travelodge hotels in Australia, New Zealand or North America their hotels in the UK may be a little different to what you are used to.
