DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Leeds City Centre

The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Leeds City Centre is a popular accommodation option by the waterfront at Granary Wharf, just a short walk from the railway station and the city centre.

The hotel’s 333 air-conditioned guest rooms all have comfortable beds, a work desk, a large flat-screen television, a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom. Two rooms on each floor are adapted for guests who require wheelchair access. There are also a handful of suites, which offer more space including separate living and sleeping areas. The rooms and suites all have floor-to-ceiling windows offering great views of the city.

The hotel has several places to eat and drink including the Lock Kitchen and Bar on the ground floor plus the 13th-floor Sky Lounge bar. The Lock Kitchen and Bar offers bistro-style dining in a casual environment and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Sky Lounge on the top floor is a fancier place that offers great views of Leeds and West Yorkshire. You can come here for brunch on weekends, afternoon tea on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and later in the evening it becomes a vibrant spot for a drink or two.

All guests have access to the hotel’s on-site fitness centre.

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.

Most guests who have stayed at both hotels say that this hotel is much nicer than the other Hilton Hotel just up the road. Not only is it in a newer building but it is also in a much more pleasant location.

The hotel is located in Granary Wharf between the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and the River Aire. Granary Wharf is a development consisting of mid-rise office buildings and modern blocks of flats. There are a few places to eat and drink in the immediate area and it is only a short walk from the heart of Leeds centre.

Despite its relatively tranquil canalside setting, the hotel is surprisingly well-located if you’re travelling by public transport. It is only a one-minute walk to Leeds railway station with buses to the airport departing from in front of the station. The Leeds Dock water taxi stops nearby, running regularly between Granary Wharf and Leeds Dock, offering both a cheap river cruise and a convenient transport option if you want to visit the Royal Armouries Museum.

Car parking is available but it costs £19.95 per day (£24.95 for valet parking).
