Hampton by Hilton Leeds City Centre

The 13 storey hotel is a complete renovation of the British Gas Building on New York Road and it only reopened as a hotel in 2019. Like other brand new hotels operated by Hampton by Hilton, it offers a very high standard of accommodation for a reasonable price.

The 121 air-conditioned hotel rooms all have comfortable beds, a seating area, a work desk, a flatscreen television, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom and south-facing rooms offer panoramic views of Leeds city centre. Some wheelchair accessible rooms are also available.

A complimentary hot breakfast is available, which is served in the hotel’s spacious lobby area.

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.

The Hampton by Hilton Leeds City Centre is on the northern fringe of the city centre near the corner of New York Road and Regent Street and the busy A64(M) motorway passes right by the hotel. It is not the best located of Leeds’ hotels and the immediate neighbourhood is not the most attractive part of Leeds with light industry and big box stores selling furnishings and building materials. However, there are a few places to eat and drink in the immediate area including a couple of nice pubs (the Brunswick on the corner of North Street and Melbourne Street is noted for its excellent Sunday roast).

It has a more central location than initial appearances would suggest and the hotel is less than a 10-minute walk from the heart of the city centre and most points of interest in central Leeds are not much more than a 15-minute walk from here.

Leeds City Bus Station is a seven-minute walk from the hotel and the railway station is a 17-minute walk away.
