ibis Styles Leeds City Centre Arena

The ibis Styles Leeds City Centre Arena hotel is a nice place to stay at the northern end of Leeds city centre near the First Direct Arena.

The hotel has 134 hotel rooms set over five floors. All rooms have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flatscreen telly, tea and coffee making facilities (including an Illy pod coffee machine) and en suite bathrooms.

Unusually for a chain hotel, this ibis Styles has a few single rooms which offer a cheaper option if you’re travelling on your own. Rooms here are compact, starting at just 12m² (129 sq ft) for a single room and moving up to 20m² (215 sq ft) for a family room. Double and twin rooms range from 16m² (172 sq ft) to 19m² (205 sq ft).

Arnolds is the hotel’s bar/restaurant, which has a focus on food and drinks from Yorkshire. The bar/restaurant has a better atmosphere than you would expect from a three-star hotel in this price range but it is still no match for a proper local pub.

Like other ibis Styles hotels, this hotel has a quirky interior decor with more individual character than you would normally expect from a major hotel chain.

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.

The hotel is next to the Merrion Centre at the northern end of the city centre. There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby including the shops inside the Merrion Centre (which include a large Morrisons supermarket) as well as plenty of other places within a five-minute walk from the hotel.

Most points of interest in Leeds city centre are an easy walk from the hotel. This includes Leeds Cathedral, Leeds City Museum, the Henry Moore Institute and Leeds Art Gallery, which are all less than a 10-minute walk away. The main shopping areas are close by as well, with Briggate, Leeds Kirkgate Market, Trinity Leeds and the Victoria Quarter all within a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

Both the railway station and the bus station are around a 15-minute walk from the hotel.
