The Holiday Inn Express London – Vauxhall Nine Elms hotel can sometimes be a good value accommodation option. It has easy access to central London but it is not as well-located as other hotels elsewhere in London.
It is a modern hotel with 132 rooms on five levels. The rooms all have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Five of the rooms are wheelchair accessible.
An Express Start buffet breakfast (included in your room rate) is served in the dining area on the ground floor. Guests can also relax with a drink in the hotel’s lobby bar.
There is free wired internet access in all rooms, but Wi-Fi wireless internet access is only free for IHG Rewards members. It is free to join the IHG loyalty programme and free Wi-Fi is available to all members of the programme, even those on the entry-level tier.
The hotel is located on busy South Lambeth Road, and the immediate neighbourhood has plenty of places to eat and drink including a good choice of Portuguese restaurants. There is not much else of interest in the immediate area around the hotel; however, you can walk to the Beefeater Gin Distillery, the Oval cricket ground and Tate Britain in around 20 minutes.
Vauxhall and Stockwell tube stations are both a 10-minute walk from the hotel and bus routes 2 and 88 stop near the hotel on South Lambeth Road. Both bus routes take you into central London with buses running every 6–10 minutes on each route.
Car parking is available at the hotel but spaces are limited and it costs £22 per day.
