The Alan (formerly the Princess Street Hotel, and before that, the Arora Hotel) is a four-star hotel in a Grade II-listed Victorian building in the heart of Manchester’s city centre.
The hotel has 137 guest rooms set over six storeys with five room varieties ranging from the 23m² standard room up to the 32m² Alan suite. All rooms are air conditioned with tall 4m-high ceilings, large comfortable beds, a 50″ smart TV, tea and coffee making facilities and en-suite bathrooms with rainfall showers.
Facilities include a bar and restaurant with a menu based on seasonal locally-sourced produce and there is also a co-working space; however, this costs an additional £15 per day.
Although the building’s exterior is Victorian, the interior is decked out with a modern decor.
The Alan is located near St Peter’s Square, just a few minutes from Manchester Art Gallery, Manchester Town Hall and Manchester Central Library. It is an eight-minute walk from Manchester Oxford Road railway station and 15 minutes from Manchester Piccadilly, Manchester Victoria and Salford Central stations.
