Legacy Rose & Crown Hotel

The building has a wattle and daub construction, which is typical of buildings from the Tudor era. It is a charming place to stay and many of the rooms have period features such as original exposed oak beams.

The hotel has 34 spacious guest rooms, which all have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flatscreen television, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms.

The Rivers Edge Waterfront Restaurant, Bar and Terrace has a menu of mostly traditional British food and on a sunny day, you can eat outside in the large garden area with a lovely view of the river. If you would rather eat and drink elsewhere, there is a local pub (the Greyfisher) just a two-minute walk from the hotel.

The Rose & Crown is a popular wedding venue, particularly the riverside Orangery that can accommodate up to 120 guests. However, the hotel’s popularity as a wedding venue means that it is not always an ideal place to stay if you’re here at the same time that a wedding is booked.

Most points of interest within the Cathedral Close (including Arundell’s, Mompesson House, Salisbury Cathedral and the Salisbury Museum) are around a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The city centre is around a 15-minute walk from the hotel and the railway station is around a 25-minute walk. Local buses stop outside the hotel with services into the city centre every half hour with more frequent bus services stopping outside Halfords on New Bridge Road, around a five-minute walk from the hotel.

Free parking is available in the hotel’s on-site car park, which makes it an ideal spot to stay if you’re driving.
