The Queens is a large Art Deco-style railway hotel next to Leeds railway station. It provides a high standard of accommodation while also offering the glamour of a 1930s-era railway hotel.
The Grade II-listed Art Deco hotel was built by the London, Midland & Scottish Railway in 1937, making it the last of England’s great railway hotels. The hotel was given a £10 million renovation shortly after it was acquired by QHotels in 2003, which has seen it reclaim the glamour of a 1930s-era railway hotel, and a £16 million renovation was completed in June 2021.
The 232 hotel rooms all have comfortable beds, a work desk, a flatscreen television, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Six of the rooms are wheelchair accessible.
QClub rooms on the top floor cost a little more but they are better appointed and they also give you access to the Queens Lounge, where you can enjoy complimentary drinks between 6pm and 8pm.
The hotel also has several suites, which are more spacious with separate sleeping and living areas.
Eating and drinking options include Grand Pacific restaurant and bar, which has an international menu with Asian flavours alongside British classics, and Café Pacific, which is an elegant spot for afternoon tea.
The hotel has a new on-site gym, which opened as part of its recent renovation.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
