The Edwardian-era hotel has an ornate exterior and it features a stunning marble-floored reception and an original Art Deco lift.

The hotel was built in 1905 and recently closed for a major renovation, reopening in 2019. It is now a luxury hotel that offers a very high standard of accommodation. Prior to being renovated, the Chatsworth was a 50-room hotel but some rooms were enlarged during the renovation process and new bar and restaurant areas were also created. After refurbishment, the hotel now has 30 guest bedrooms.

The 25m² (270 sq ft) deluxe rooms are the smallest in the hotel and can be configured either with twin beds or a super king-size bed. The cheaper deluxe rooms are those without a sea view. The next step up are the 35m² (375 sq ft) executive rooms, which all have separate baths and showers and some of them also have balconies overlooking the beach. The large 60m² (645 sq ft) junior suite is a much larger space with chandeliers, a dining table with four chairs, breathtaking sea views and en suite bathrooms that feature walk-in rain showers and spa baths.

All rooms have comfortable beds, flatscreen televisions, a desk, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms. Rooms feature high ceilings and bespoke furnishings and the bathrooms are fitted with Italian marble.

The Chatsworth also has its own in-house restaurant, which is noted for its seafood as well as three classy in-house bars. It also has a Valmont Spa, a fitness centre and a hammam.

Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.

The hotel has a prominent location facing the seafront and it is just a few minutes walk to Eastbourne Pier and the town centre. Other attractions in Eastbourne that are within walking distance include the Lifeboat Museum and the Eastbourne Heritage Centre (both a six-minute walk away), the Towner Art Gallery (a nine-minute walk) and the Redoubt Fortress (a 15-minute walk from the hotel). The railway station is a 12-minute walk away.

Great staff and lovely boutique hotel

We stayed at a quiet time of year and were very kindly upgraded to a Junior Suite with a superb sea view. The team are simply the best at excellent service and were always polite, courteous and helpful. We would stay again.

This is a scam the hotel is not a five star hotel

We stayed here at the end of June, expecting a five star hotel. It is not a five star hotel either officially or in interior appearance. Staff friendly but room deficient. Our room was dirty and the balcony hadnt been cleaned probably this year. The wardrobe was a rod on the wall with hangers and no doors. Breakfast was horrible, it took three attempts to get hot fried eggs the first two attempts we got cold fried eggs.
