The Cosmopolitan Hotel (formerly the Golden Lion Hotel) is an established hotel in an older building with an excellent location right in the heart of the city centre.
The hotel has 89 guest rooms arranged over three floors. All rooms have comfortable beds, a work desk, a sitting area, a flatscreen television, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and en suite bathrooms with bathrobes (although bathrobes are only available if you’re staying Monday to Thursday).
Because the hotel is in an older building, rooms vary in shape and size and lack the consistency that you may be used to if you usually stay in more modern hotels. Another drawback of the older building is that the hotel does not have air conditioning and this means that it may not be the best option for you if you’re staying in Leeds during the summer.
The hotel has a large restaurant with an international menu, although its central location means that there are plenty of other places to eat and drink nearby.
It is a well-established hotel and some parts of the hotel can feel a little dated. The hotel changed ownership in August 2020 and the new owners plan on making this the first hotel in the newly-formed Belfont brand.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.

The hotel does not have any on-site car parking facilities, although guests can get discounted parking at the Q Park Sovereign Square car park which is 180m (200 yards) away.
