The Mercure Bristol Brigstow Hotel is a popular hotel with business travellers that is well-positioned in the Old City around midway between Bristol’s main shopping district and the waterfront tourist sights.
The 116 room hotel rooms are a relatively spacious 25m² (269 sq ft). All rooms have comfortable beds, a work desk, a television, ironing facilities, a minibar, tea and coffee making facilities and an en suite bathroom. Several of the rooms are wheelchair accessible.
Upgrading to a privilege or superior room gives you better amenities, although the main advantage of these rooms is the lovely view of the river.
Free Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel.
Buttermilk & Maple, the hotel restaurant, is a cafe-style restaurant that is a great spot for lunch with an adjoining bar that is open into the evening serving both lunch and dinner.
The hotel is located in Bristol’s Old City, a neighbourhood full of loads of great places to eat and drink including lots of waterfront bars and restaurants on Welsh Back just a short walk from the hotel.
It faces the waterfront and it is just a four-minute walk from Queen Square, two minutes from St Nicholas Markets and a five-minute walk to the city’s main shopping area. Nearby points of interest include Arnolfini, Bristol Aquarium, Bristol Cathedral, M Shed, the Matthew of Bristol, St Mary Redcliffe Church and We The Curious, which are all around a 10-minute walk from the hotel.
This hotel is around a 15-minute walk from Temple Meads railway station and just over 10 minutes to the city’s two coach stations. However, if you’re arriving in Bristol by train, the nicest way to get here is to take the ferry from the station to Welsh Back ferry dock, which is only a one-minute walk from the hotel.
